HISTORY

The Daleks were created by Davros, Kaled scientists on Skaro. Creating the Daleks was a labour for Davros who saw the development of a superior race that was able to survive the centuries old war on Skaro between the Thals and the Kaleds. He saw them as an ultimate weapon capable of continuous war with emotions or concerns. Ten of the eleven Doctors have encountered the Daleks in various forms, on various planets and at various times during history. The version, with slight adaptations, of the Daleks that appear throughout Doctor Who are the Mark II Travel Machine created by Davros. There have also been various models of the Emperor Dalek, one encasing Davros himself, as well as Dalek of various colours. Davros also developed a dalek capable of walking over rough terrain, these were known as Spider daleks.There have also been Dalek who have at time been seen as superior to Davros himself, the last of these was the Supreme Dalek in Stolen Earth and Journey's End. He controlled all aspects of the Dalek conquest while Davros hide at a lower level of the craft. It is an interesting point that the Dalek are never given a sex, or have sex markings, it appears that they are all created gender nutral and only focus on conquest and domination.
