Although David Tennant is my favorite Doctor, my FIRST Doctor was Tom Baker! Which incarnation of the Doctor were YOU first introduced to? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I remember, When I was just drawing (with paper) on the table in the living room one evning, I saw my mom watching something on the SciFi channel. (It was the first episode of the remake)
"What's this?" I asked.
I sat next to her and I was introduced the Doctor Who world. Then my brother and sister came up and watched it with us. But our dad still thinks it's sorta funny, since he always goes like, "Is this the one with the weired fat people?" or something he says, before going to work.

That's my story.

It was the Tom Baker episodes that heavily ran on PBS when I was a kid. I guess because he was the most popular at the time.

Well actually I had no intention of getting into Doctor Who until I realized that Merlin star Colin Morgan was in Midnight. So I watched it and that probably wasn't a good first Doctor Who experience because I was so confused, but after that I just randomly decided to watch the new seasons from the beginning and I quickly fell in love with the show. David Tennant was my first Doctor, and so far he is my favorite. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

(Well you answered my questions on that other thread)
Yeah my whole family watches doctor who (Escept for my dad) so its really funny when people from doctor who star in his fave TV shows
Yeah one time we were watching either Midnight or Merlin and mary(my older sis) said,"hey, isn't that guy from doctor who (or merlin?)?"
"What?" My dad walked up.
"Oh, yeah, he is!" Then we all burst out laughing, Well, me and mary. (Ya u probably wouldn't get it.
Oh and I remember (cause I got the season 4 box set EEP!) We were watching "Runaway bride" and dad asked, "Isn't this that one episode with the spider lady?" So yeah, you can sorta tell he doesn't know much about doctor who. But we are slowly teaching him of it...
LoLz XD

While David Tennant is my favorite, and always will be, he was not my first.
The first Doctor I ever saw was the one before him, played by Christopher Eccleston.
He was very good. :D

In the Episode called Midnight (I didn't really like that episode, i don't know why) The kid who actually believes in the Doctor is the same young actor that plays in the BBC show, Merlin.
His name is Colin Morgan.
He has been in:
Doctor Who as Jethro Cane
Merlin ~ Island ~ Parked

When I was a little kid I saw the first old black & white movie w/ the 1st Doctor (you know before they figured out he was a Time Lord). I didn't know about a series until years later when I found Tom Baker's Doctor. That Doctor was shown the most & he was great, w/o him I'd never have found any of the other Doctors. Now my favorites are Eccleston & Tennet. They are both wonderful in their own ways & speak to me the most. I don't think we'd have the Doctor any longer if it wasn't for Eccleston & Tennent did a wonderful job picking up from where he left off. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

the first doctor i was introduced to was the ninth doctor which would be eccleston. and i so totally agree with ladyshadowlight when she says that eccleston and tennant did a wonderful job and they're also my favorite doctors as well.

I believe I started with Tom Baker, I was rather young then and far more interested in Red Dwarf. My Mom loved Doctor Who, which I grew to love as well. He was one of the most memorable Doctors, his performance from then on the basis for comparison of all other incarnations. Of course, David Tennant is my favorite all time Doctor ;D 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Jon Pertwee. I started watching "Doctor Who" in 2005, not because of the new series but when I came across "The Ambassadors of Death" on my local PBS purely by accident. I was channel surfing, saw the episode in progress and thought it was good. Checked the TV Guide to see what show it was.
Now I have heard of "Doctor Who" before. I remember seeing it in the TV Guide in the late 70s/early 80s but for some reason I never tried to watch it. Hell, I didn't even have an idea what it was about; probably assumed it was a show in a hospital or something. I was heavy into "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" when I was a kid, so I know I would have loved "Doctor Who".
Once I saw Pertwee in action, I researched the show online and couldn't believe how long it's been around and how many actors have been the Doctor, I have since seen every episode at least once since the final Second Doctor story "War Games". I also own about 30 DVDs and 11 books.
You can say I'm hooked on the show. Better late than never.

My first Doctor Who was Christopher Eccleston. My dad watched it on the scifi channel, and that got our family hooked.
Now, I can't decide between David Tennant and Matt Smith as my favourite. I think David will always be my favourite, but I'm in love with Matt. Great question!

Christopher Eccleston was the first doctor I ever saw, but David Tennant is my favorite! He was born to play that role. I miss him! Though I am warming up to Matt Smith. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Christopher Eccleston was my first, but likes DAVID TENNANT. I still think the 11th is a bit of a fruitcake 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I'm still young! My first doctor was only the 9th! But don't think i don't know anything about the older doctors. I've watched loads of old doctor episodes, and i've researched about doctor who. I got introduced to the show when my nana was looking in the tv guide and suddenly started shouting "Doctor who's on! Doctor who's on!". Do you find this valuable?
